COVID-19 Barns Closed

Beginning at 8:00pm EDT Thursday March 26th and continuing for at least 10 days, Windhover Farm and York Stables will be closing as mandated by the Governor of Kentucky in an effort to arrest the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

We will be following the specific guidance published by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture clarifying the application of the Governor’s mandate to equine boarding facilities. During this period we are asking that boarders not enter the barns without first notifying us of when and for how long they plan to be in the barns. Please note that while this order is in effect the bridle trails and walker will be closed and are not to be used by any boarder. The arena will remain open but all equipment will be removed and stored. While you are in the barns please keep your contact with common surfaces to an absolute minimum and be sure to practice social distancing as well as frequent hand washing. These measures will allow us to protect all of you as well as our employees and those of us who call this farm home.

We recognize how important your horse is to your own personal well-being and that in these stressful times it is especially difficult to ask you to take these steps to distance yourself from them. Know that we will continue to provide the best of care to your companion during this time. We will be sharing frequent updates with each of you on the general status of your animal(s) to help ease any anxiety you may feel. If at any time you have questions or would like additional information, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of us.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Together we will make it through these most extraordinary of circumstances.

About Us

We breed Section "B" welsh ponies. Our goal is to produce not only top class athletes but also to provide ponies that will be safe child companions. Our ponies are sane and sound with the elegance that sets them apart. We breed for intelligent ponies with a strong work ethic. Our bloodlines are top hunter bloodlines.

In addition to our breeding program, we also offer breaking/training services and riding lessons in a variety of disciplines. We offer a safe and fun environment where riders of all skill levels, ages and backgrounds may come to learn how to be a true equestrian. Our skilled trainers and instructors have many years of experience working with horses and competing in a multitude of equestrian sports at a professional level (and receiving many awards to show for it). We specialize in Mounted Games, a fun and fast paced team sport played on horseback, as well as hunter/jumper and dressage.

Welcome to Windhover Farm!
